Kirov is a big industrial city located on the river
Vyatka in the north-east of the European part of
Russia. Manufacturing Plant Selmash is one of the
leading enterprises in Kirov; its first production
run was carried out on 23 June 1943. Joint Stock
Company Manufacturing Plant Selmash is unique both
to Russia and CIS to produce housing for unguided
missiles for helicopters and assault aircraft, as
well as housing for medium- and large-caliber shells:
the plant is actively involved in development of
brand new special-purpose samples.
Along with military branch the plant provides for a
wide range of consumer goods:
- locks and ironmongery (mortise locks, garage locks,
rim locks, padlocks and heavy-duty locks);
- plastic-ware;
- technical and engineering goods (Versatile milling
machine SF 676, vertical desk type drilling machine
2M 112, slotted head);
- wood-ware, saw-timber, etc.
The plant occupies large production and power
facilities, has many rail-road house tracks and
warehouses thus providing for numerous works and
manufactures such as:
- foundry, press, thermal, cold forging,
mechanoprocessing, electroplating, wood-processing
shops;
- production of mechanical rubber and plastic ware;
- power-polymer coating of metallic parts and
assemblies;
- production of articles of metallic powders on
stamping machines with the pressure force of 25 to
100 tons with subsequent sintering in OB-126 furnace.
- tool manufacture equipped with the most up-to-date
machinery allows to produce measuring and cutting
tools, tools set for mechanical operation, stamps
and press molds;
- mechanical-repair department.
JSC Manufacturing Plant Selmash managed to retain
throughout the years unified material base and
working team which fact ensures high quality
